TUNA KAHUNA

The owners of Tuna Kahuna were looking for a location to offer new customers their acclaimed Poke and “Island-Style” quick-cuisine in Downtown Burlingame. They found an ideal spot right downtown on bustling Burlingame Avenue — in a former candy shop that had seen better days. CONCORE was hired to renovate that space and bring new life to what would become one of the area’s most popular restaurants.

     The CONCORE General Contracting team gutted the entire space, removing all of the old, dark and tired cabinets and store fixtures that remained from the previous business and proceeded to build a bright new bar and prep area in addition to installing all-new lighting, ceiling fans, plumbing and finishes. Additionally, the old storefront was completely removed and replaced with a unique and unusually large, special-order bi-fold window unit that actually folded upward and out, accordion style, to open the interior space to the sidewalk seating in front.
